You may recall the story I reported here of the young Saudi Christian blogger, Hamoud Bin Saleh, who was arrested in Saudi Arabia for writing about his Christian conversion from Islam. On March 28, Hamoud Bin Saleh was released from prison, Compass Direct News reported. This indeed is answered prayer and a miracle from God, because in Saudi Arabia the penalty for converting from Islam, also called apostasy, is death. His release from prison does not come without conditions, however. Hamoud Bin Saleh is not allowed to leave the country or speak to media. Read the story here
Please pray that he will remain strong in his Christian faith in an environment that tortures and kills Christians, and that God will protect him from further harm and torture.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD Psalm 150:6

Saudi King Shakes Up Religious Establishment
This is some good news coming out of Saudi Arabia, and a start of what appears to be religious reform by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi king on Saturday dismissed the chief of the religious police and a cleric who condoned killing the owners of TV networks that broadcast "immoral" content, signaling an effort to weaken the country's hard-line Sunni establishment.
The shake-up — King Abdullah's first since coming to power in August 2005 — included the appointment of a female deputy minister, the highest government position a Saudi woman has attained.
The king also changed the makeup of an influential body of religious scholars, for the first time giving more moderate Sunnis representation to the group whose duties include issuing the religious edicts known as fatwas.
"This is the true start of the promises of reform," said Jamal Khashoggi, editor of Al-Watan newspaper and an experienced observer of the kingdom's politics. "They bring not only new blood, but also new ideas,"
"They are more moderate and many are also close to the reform agenda of the king, having worked closely with him."
The delay in making these changes could also be in part because the necessary officials and scholars had to be trained for the job.
"The people now in charge are not being ordered to implement reform," Khashoggi added. "They believe in reform."

Saudi Arabia Muslim Chooses Jesus (Video)
This is an amazing interaction where a brother in Saudi Arabia has chosen to follow Jesus over Islam. More and more stories are beginning to come out of Saudi Arabia where muslims there are converting to Christianity. This video makes me wonder how many more muslims in Saudi Arabia are closet Christians out of fear of the religious police.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA (Worthy News) -- A young Internet writer in Saudi Arabia was in life danger Wednesday, January 28, after he was detained by authorities for announcing on his blog that he converted from Islam to Christianity, religious human rights investigators said.
The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) said Hamoud Bin Saleh was arrested January 13 and officials blocked access to his Website ( http://christforsaudi.blogspot.com/ ) due to his opinions and announcement that he had become a Christian.
The 28-year-old graduate in English literature from the Al Yarmouk University in Jordan, was moved to "the infamous Eleisha political prison" in the capital Riyadh, a facility where several other dissidents have been jailed in recent years, ANHRI said in a statement.
His detention came five months after the daughter of a member of the feared he religious police or Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice was reportedly killed for disclosing her Christian faith.
