Netanyahu Turns To Bible In Dilemma over Jerusalem’s Future

Good news from Israel..

P M of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, is seeking God’s advice and turning to the Bible seeking answers for the dilemma over Jerusalem’s future, which he is now confronted with in “peace” negotiatians with Israel’s enemies.

Netanyahu told a parliamentary session commemorating Israel's capture of East Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 war that "Jerusalem" and its alternative Hebrew name "Zion" appear 850 times in the Old Testament, Judaism's core canon.

"As to how many times Jerusalem is mentioned in the holy scriptures of other faiths, I recommend you check," he said.

Citing such ancestry, Israel calls all of Jerusalem its "eternal and indivisible" capital -- a designation not recognised abroad, where many powers support Arab claims to East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state Read more here:

Meanwhile,in a separate story from the Jerusalem Post commemorating the liberation and reunification of Jerusalem, the Prime Minister has declared that

We Will Never Divide Jerusalem

Jerusalem Day is the day on which Jerusalem was finally liberated, and was able to take all of its residents, Jewish and Arab, under its wings," Netanyahu said. "Never again shall it be suffocated, gloomy or divided."

  • For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not be still, until her righteousness emanates like bright light, and her salvation blazes like a torch. Isaiah 62:1

"We are the generation which was lucky enough to see our holy sites liberated and returned to our hands, and it is upon us to transfer this right to our children," the prime minister continued.

During his speech, Netanyahu also touched upon the peace process and the significant role Jerusalem seems to be playing in its advancement. "I believe that we will achieve peace, but whoever suggests that the problems with the peace process are really based on a problem with Jerusalem, we will remind them that [Jerusalem] was once divided, but [nevertheless] war raged there," he said.

Of Jerusalem, Jesus tells us in Luke's Gospel 21:24 that the city will be trodden down of the Gentiles until He Himself returns to liberate His City of Jerusalem once and for all, and dwell among His people in the Temple that will be rebuilt, because God is a jealous God over His City Jerusalem. Zechariah 1:14-16

This is huge. For the P M of Israel citing the Bible in its claim of Jerusalem should remind everyone that the final act is the return of Jesus Christ to earth. Jerusalem is "up for grabs" now by all nations and the arabs, but the Bible says of Jereusalem "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifted, and the women ravished; and half the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when as when he fought in the day of battle. Zechariah 14:2,3

It won't be long now. Netanyahu will not divide Jerusalem, but it will soon cause an all out regional war that will involve the ME and involve all nations, and the Lord himself will defend it.
