Is Katla Volcano getting ready to blow?

For those keeping track of Katla Volcano,there’s some more big news recently. Scienceray.com is reporting that there’s been some Major Activity in Iceland’s Katla Volcano with Over 11 Earthquakes In 24 Hours. Check it out at Scienceray.com

This is definitely something to watch and pray about because volcano eruptions  are very often set off or follow an earthquake. Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke of earthquakes in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24.

Indeed, we have had a an increasing amount of earthquakes causing huge numbers of death and billions of dollars in damage all around the world  in the last few years alone. Now the world’s eye is focusing on Katla Volcano. Biblical prophecy is very often closely linked to catastrophic events upon the earth, which will lead up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself tells us this in the Olivet Discourse, which we are seeing being fulfilled  in our generation at an accelerating rate. Even in the Old Testament, there is mention of what seems to be the phenomena of a volcanic eruption associated with an earthquake.

Isaiah 29:6 reads “Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.”

Is Iceland’s Katla Volcano Getting Ready To Erupt?

In May of 2010, I wrote of the warnings coming from Iceland’s President that a significant eruption of Katla Volcano was close.

Today, there are reports that the huge Katla Volcano is coming back to life again, showing signs that Katla is getting ready to erupt.

A harmonic tremor has been recorded for two days and small earthquakes have been confirmed at the volcano by the Icelandic Met Office this morning.

It is highly unusual for an eruption in Iceland to occur in the middle of winter but the early indications show Katla is building up power.

Experts are unclear as to whether it is water or magma that is causing this week's sudden increase in activity and the seismic recordings are currently lower than when the volcano first showed signs of a minor eruption last July.

It is believed Katla, named after a vindictive troll of Viking folklore, has the potential to be much stronger and disruptive than the last two Icelandic volcanic eruptions that caused chaos across Europe's air space, grounding flights and closing airports.

Katla is much larger than its neighbouring Eyjafjallajokull – which erupted in 2010 - with a magma chamber about 10 times the size.

Volcanologists warn that if Katla does erupt, the combination of the magma and the large ice sheet covering the volcano could lead to explosive activity and an ash plume for weeks, if not months.

Significant Eruption of Iceland's Katla Volcano Close

Reports are coming out of London that an eruption from Katla Volcano in Iceland is close, and Icelandic President Ólafur Grímsson has warned governments around Europe that a significant eruption at the volcano is close. "We [Iceland] have prepared ... it is high time for European governments and airline authorities all over Europe and the world to start planning for the eventual Katla eruption," he said. Story here

Threat of New, Larger Icelandic Eruption From Katla Volcano

So you think it’s business as usual and you can breath easier and relax because Britain and the rest of the world has resumed its normal flight schedules that came to a halt because of the ash cloud over Britain from Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull eruption?

Not so. It’s not over. The most recent news from watchful scientists is that the threat of a new and even larger Iceland eruption is pending from Iceland's Katla Volcano, as scientists are now saying they fear tremors at the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano could trigger an even more dangerous eruption at the nearby Katla Volcano — creating a worst-case scenario for the airline industry and travelers around the globe.

A Katla eruption would be 10 times stronger and shoot higher and larger plumes of ash into the air than its smaller neighbor, which has already brought European air travel to a standstill for five days and promises severe travel delays for days more. Read about it here

Katla Next Icelandic Volcano to Blow?

Is Iceland’s Katla volcano next to blow? Olelog writes that Eyjafjalla has blown three times in the past thousand years – in 920, 1612 and around 1823. Each time it set off Katla. An eruption at Katla could melt huge amounts of ice and cause massive floods. More on this here.

Earthquakes Up 151 Percent

Jesus referred to the increase of earthquakes in the Olivet Discourse as the beginning of sorrows.

Speaking of earthquakes, Modern Survival Blog.com has some very informative data posted on his blog concerning earthquakes, which are up 151 percent since 1900.

The number of magnitude 5.0 to 6.9 worldwide earthquakes are showing a significant increase so far this year during 2010, and are up 151 percent compared with the same range and time span of earthquakes since the year 1900, as of this independent analysis, 25-May-2010.

The number of magnitude 7.0 to 8.9 worldwide earthquakes appear to be on track, or slightly increased from historical averages.

Earthquakes of magnitude 5 – 5.9 have increased by 139 percent compared with same range of earthquakes over the last 10 years.
Earthquakes of magnitude 5 – 5.9 have increased by 163 percent compared with same range of earthquakes since the year 1900.
Earthquakes of magnitude 6 – 6.9 have increased by 130 percent compared with same range of earthquakes over the last 10 years.
Earthquakes of magnitude 6 – 6.9 have increased by 140 percent compared with same range of earthquakes since the year 1900.

A Message From David Wilkerson "While The Foundations Are Shaking"

I received a message from David Wilkerson today in my files, "While The Foundations Are Shaking",  that I think is a very timely one indeed from a biblical perspective considering the obvious political and environmental chaos and lawlessness that is taking place within the American government system and the Gulf of Mexico oil catastrophe and the dire severe consequences this will place upon everyone in America and abroad. Then you have the Katla Volcano  in Iceland that is a ticking time bomb that could blow at any time, and a world wide man-made financial catastrophe.  Add to that the devastation forecasted by NASA scientists upon the earth due to solar flares expected to occur soon.    On top of that, we now have a world-wide governmental  attempt to isolate Israel in favor of islamic facism, terrorism  and appeasement in the name of religion,  with the man occupying the White House leading the pack.

You will recall that Pastor Wilkerson of the Times Square Church in New York sent out an Urgent Message to the church concerning a warning that he felt compelled to deliver to the church of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Wilkerson says:
While all the foundations of the world are shaking and Satan roars like a maddened lion, and everywhere there is confusion, violence, and uncertainty, those who trust in the Lord, confident in him, will stand still to see God's salvation with hearts and minds at peace. They can enjoy rest and sleep sweetly, unafraid of conditions around them.

I give you some glorious promises of God for all who trust in him in these perilous times.

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried; he is a buckler [shield of protection] to all them that trust in him..." (2 Samuel 22:31).

"Show thy marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them" (Psalm 17:7).

"Oh, how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust thee before the sons of men" (Psalm 31:19).

"Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of men; thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues" (Psalm 31:20).

"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord" (Psalm 31:24).

"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass" (Psalm 37:5).

"The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him" (Psalm 37:39-40).

"In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me" (Psalm 56:4).

"Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us" (Psalm 62:8).

"They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever" (Psalm 125:1).

"Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverbs 29:25).

The only safeguard against Satan's lies and evil devices is to face him with the promises of God. God's Word is still all powerful and the devil still trembles when we stand firm with this Sword in hand.
