Earthquake in Italy Kills 150

A devestating earthquake in the medieval town of L'Aquila has left 150 people dead with 50,000 homeless. Let us pray for the people in this earthquake zone that they will look to Christ in this horrible disaster for salvation and comfort.

  • Up to 50,000 people have been left homeless in the town, around 60 miles north-east of Rome, and in the surrounding villages, with up to 15,000 buildings destroyed or damaged beyond repair.
After working in heavy rain during the day, the rescuers scoured collapsed buildings in the medieval town of L'Aquila, the regional capital at the epicentre of the earthquake. Emergency services said 60 people had been pulled alive from the rubble.
Many buildings in the area date back to the Renaissance and stood no chance against the 20 to 30-second tremor. Complete story here
