Jesus Christ, Our Passover Lamb

While He Was On The Cross, I Was On His Mind

Our Lord Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the promise given that one will come who will bruise satan's head written in Genesis 3:15. This Passover Season,Christians all over the world will remember that Jesus was our passover lamb. All of the animal sacrifices offered to God pointed to the One who came to offer Himself.

Jesus was presented to the people on the 10th of Aviv, Nissan on the Hebrew calendar. This is when He made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, on a donkey.

And many spread their garments in the way; and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.  And the people that went before Jesus, and followed Jesus, cried saying Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:  Hosanna in the highest.  Mark 11:8-10

The lamb in the Old Testament was also set aside and presented on the same date. Jesus was crucified between the evenings on Passover, fulfilling the death of the Passover Lamb on Aviv 14. The Last Supper was a Passover seder that Jesus kept with his chosen disciples, and he was crucified on the next day being Passover.

Glory To His Name
