Japan's Mount Kirishima Volcano Erupts-Pictures

Japan incurred its biggest volcano eruption in 50 years at Mount Kirishima Volcano on the southern part of Japan. The volcano began erupting January 26, pouring out a giant ash cloud, ejecting volcanic bombs and lava fragments and smoke 5,000 feet into the air.  See related story February 20, 2012: Japan's Sakurajima Volcano Has Massive Explosive Eruption With Video

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.  And I will shew signs and wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.  Joel 3:28, 30
God’s prophet Joel tells us that before the terrible day of the Lord comes, there would be signs in the heavens and in the earth.

Most, if not all Bible students are aware of the biblical punishment that fell upon and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah when the Lord rained down fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed the cities due to the sin and wickedness of the people within.

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; Genesis 19:24
Volcano eruptions contain sulfur in its solid and gaseous state; and during eruption, are in essence raining down fire and brimstone from the sky. Look around you. We sure have had a lot of violent volcano eruptions taking place around the world lately.

It seems to me that the Lord is desparately trying to get the attention of His people upon the earth. Is anyone listening? We know from Scripture He indeed does use fire and brimstone as a judgment and punishment for wickedness and sin.

When the end of this age does finally come, the Lord will destroy the earth by fire. The Apostle Peter tells us this
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in  which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2:Peter 3:10; and
God's prophet Isaiah tells us that:
For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. 66:16
Peter wrote that the elements shall melt with fervent heat. Indeed, it sure looks as if volcano eruptions will have a significant role in fulfilling the Lord’s plan to “melt the elements with fervent heat.” As recent as 2004, the world’s deepest underwater volcano was discovered, rightly named the Brimstone Pit, that emit’s a huge amount of sulfur continuously.
"In three international expeditions spanning more than two years, we've discovered a submarine volcano erupting perhaps continuously and often violently, spewing rocks that sometimes forced us to back away our remotely operated vehicles," said Bob Embley, an oceanographer with the NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory in Newport, Ore., and chief scientist on missions in 2004 and 2006 Read more.
And in this article out of New Zealand which mentions another deep underwater volcano that was found, it is noted:
Geologist Bramley Murton, the submersible's pilot, said exploring the area was "like wandering across the surface of another world," complete with spires of multicoloured mineral deposits and thick collections of fluorescent blue microorganisms thriving in the slightly cooler waters around the chimneys.
The scenes "were like nothing I had ever seen before," Murton said.
Volcanic vents are areas where sea water seeps into small cracks that penetrate deep into the earth's crust - some reaching down more than 2km. Temperatures there can reach 400 degrees Celsius, heating the water to the point where it can melt lead.
If you have written these increasing extraordinary disasters and phenomena taking place all over the world off as “natural”, or 'mother nature at work', now may be the time for you to take God at His Word, and believe upon His Son Jesus Christ for your only salvation.
