I was so blessed from reading
Christianity Today's article paying tribute to Tony Snow, which speaks of his great Christian faith in God and His Word, and how he was able to overcome his personal obstacles because of it, that I felt lead to share it with all of my readers. I hope, after you read this, you will be as blessed as I was. It seems that Tony, like the Apostle Paul, had the Spirit to be thankful in all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ [Ephesians 5:20] for this is the will of the Lord, inspite of his cancer. An excerpt:
- "Third, we can open our eyes and hearts. God relishes surprise. We want lives of simple, predictable ease—smooth, even trails as far as the eye can see—but God likes to go off-road. He provokes us with twists and turns. He places us in predicaments that seem to defy our endurance and comprehension—and yet don't. By his love and grace, we persevere. The challenges that make our hearts leap and stomachs churn invariably strengthen our faith and grant measures of wisdom and joy we would not experience otherwise."

I seem to recall that Sean Hannity claimed that Tony Snow was a Catholic "like me" (Sean Hannity).
ReplyDeleteIf Tony in fact died as a practicing Roman Catholic apart from repenting of his blasphemous participation in the mass and the rank idolatry of the adoration of the Eurcharist then according to the testimony of scripture he would be guilty of having believed another gospel (the damnable doctrines of Rome) and would therefore be burning in hell right now.
I wonder if anyone knows if he ever repented of his false religion before his demise?

Hi CD
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda like the process of elimination in determining the answer to your query. How many people dying with cancer can call it a blessing? I don't know any. It takes God's grace to write what Tony Snow wrote, and Jesus did say Ye shall know them by their fruits. Matthew 7:16
The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." Galatians 5:22 I believe Tony showed these fruits inspite of his denomination. There is no doubt in my mind that Tony is with the Lord now.
I know many catholics that are born again and even those who are't who love the Lord with all their heart and are not afraid to say so and it shows in their life. I also know many evangelicals and protestants within the church who are hypocrits, having seen many around the blogsphere.
Please understand that I'm not trying to pick a fight here or seem overly nitpicky, but I must ask you a question: Based on your response above would it then be fair to say that it is also your position that a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness who died in a peaceful manner demonstrating the same "fruits" as Tony Snow while proclaiming their undying faith in their conception of "Jesus Christ" or "God" as it is taught within their particular false religion would also be in heaven in the presence of the One True and Living God of the Holy Bible?
ReplyDeleteDoctrine matters and Rome's doctrine (just like that of the Mormons and JW's), if adhered to faithfully, certainly damns its adherents to eternal condemnation for it is another gospel of which the Apostle Paul spoke in his letter to the Galatians:
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
Now I don't profess to know if Tony Snow repented of his false and damnable Catholic religion or not, and if by God's grace he did then he is certainly in the presence of the Lord, but if he maintained the false religious doctrines of demons of Rome then he is just as certainly burning in hell right now.
Also Roman Catholicism isn't just another "Christian denomination" it's a whole other religion which is set totally apart from and is opposed to Biblical Christianity at all points. In fact Rome's doctrines of demons stand over and against the teaching of the Holy scriptures.
If you're interested in learning more I encourage you to listen to John MacArthur's devastating expose on the TRUTH about the false Catholic religion in his piece entitled Unmasking the Pope and the Catholic System".
I believe that the relatively short amount of time you'll spend listening to this message will be of immense value in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ as He has revealed Himself within the Holy Bible.
I appreciate your taking the time to dialogue with me.

Hi CD:
ReplyDeleteI think you are misunderstanding what I have said I also think if you read the entire article that Tony Snow wrote, you will smell the aroma of Christ. Some people talk about their faith and doctrine, others, like Tony Snow, are blessed enough that they are the essence of it. Tony Snow struck me as the latter. The Spirit of God within us reveals who our brothers and sisters in Christ are. The Spirit of God in us will recognize the Spirit of God in others. If you need physical, tangible proof, I cannot give that to you, except to say an unsaved man could not speak of Christ and God as Tony did, especially on page 2 of his article. I hope this clairifies it for you.
Speaking of the institutional RCC and the Pope, I agree w/you ref. their doctrines. But many catholics are born again. I do not believe, as I said, all catholics are lost. I have friends who are catholic and are born again, just as in any other denomination. I try not to stereotype everyone within the catholic church because of this. None of us, even born again, are perfect yet. We are all still growing in Christ and becoming more like him and drawing closer to him. Some are still struggling. Some are going through trials. We all are at different growth stages in our walk w/Christ on earth. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn people , but to save the lost. So I think it is very important not to stereotype people and to just give them the simple Gosp[el of Christ. The Holy Spirit will do the convicting. That is His job. And then you have your obvious cults and false beliefs in practically every denomination today, and these people, such as JW, Mormons, WOF are lost because they teach a completely different gospel. Jesus said you must be born again. No ifs, ands or buts, and that He is the only Way to the Father. If one is not born again, the person is not saved. The two compliment one another.
I wouldn't be too quick to recommend John MACaRTHUR. I came across the following article concerning him 2 weeks ago that I have to do some more research on. The article is an old one; and probably not too many people know of it. Nevertheless, I want to research it further.
