The Grassley Investigation, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, and Paula White

Do these four prosperity gospel ministries that refuse to cooperate with Grassley's Senatorial investsigation have a double standard?

Have you ever wondered why Kenneth Copeland and three other prosperity gospel ministries of the six involved in the Grassley investigation have refused to cooperate w/the investigation and disclose their financial affairs? In all fairness, as of now, it has been reported that Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer Ministries have fully cooperated with Grassley's Senate investigation, and are implementing the necessary changes to be in compliance with IRS requirements so we will leave them out, even though their names are mentioned in the following article.

This is an excellent article titled "Making Idols Out of God's Good Gifts"that sheds some light on this matter. The bottom line here seems to be which has precedent over these ministries that refuse to cooperate; i.e., standards of honesty, integrity and accountability according to God's Word that all Christians are to adhere to, or hide behind what some claim to be their "constitutional rights"?
*********
Friends, whatever you think of their "prosperity theology," this lack of transparency is simply not a biblical response. Scripture is plain that Christians should be "children of light" (I Thess. 5:5) and not of darkness. Indeed, scripture reserves special condemnation for the "works of darkness." (Rom. 13:12) We are told that our deeds should be "above reproach." (II Tim. 3:2) Whatever else these verses might mean, surely they also mean that complete openness, transparency, and self-disclosure should be the proper posture for both individual Christians and for any organization that presumes to call itself a Christian ministry.

But what is particularly interesting about the Grassley Six is that they have found some unlikely advocates. The Alliance Defense Fund, a legal defense group that is normally a great defender of Christian values, appears to be on the side of the "Grassley Six." Gary McCaleb, the ADF's senior counsel, criticized the "tone" of Grassley's investigation. The American Center For Law and Justice, led by conservative firebrand Jay Sekulow, said it was "concerned about the constitutional issues raised by the inquiry." Kelly Shackleford of the Texas-based Liberty Legal Institute voiced similar concerns. More Here

Israel: Obama's Campaign Pulls Off Slick PR Stunt Buffing 'his' Christian Credentials at Israel's Western Wall

It's amazing how far some politicians will go to hop aboard the bandwagon and portray themselves as "Christian"in an attempt to obtain the Christian vote.

Recently, when Obama was in Israel, he visited the Western Wall where the Jewish people pray and where prayers are written on a note to G-d and left in the Wall. It just so happens that Obama left a prayer note in the Wall when he went there to pray, the contents of which "leaked out." Come to find out, it was all a publicity stunt. Is anyone surprised? Israel National News is reporting this slick PR stunt orchestrated by the Obama campaign.

(IsraelNN.com) Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama's campaign seems to have purposely leaked the contents of the note that he placed in the Kotel, web magazine Israel Insider wrote Tuesday. While Israel's Hebrew newspaper Maariv came under fire for publishing the note, "it now appears that Maariv had collaborated with the Obama campaign in getting the 'private' prayer, with its 'modest' supplication to the Lord, out to the public, buffing his Christian credentials and showing his "humility," the web magazine said. Tony 'Lawman' Open-Air Preaching in Todd Bentley's Camp

To get an idea of what happened during Tony Miano's preachng at Todd Bentley's camp in USC last week, here's some videos that are up now of Lawman Tony open-air's preaching outside Todd Bentley's camp presenting the true Gospel of Jesus Christ at USC that I reported here "They Loved The Darkness Rather Than The Light."

The Kenneth Copeland Family Empire

Here's an update on Kenneth Copeland, who preaches the prosperity gospel concerning the vast fortune he, his family and close friends have accumulated from his donated funds and his IRS tax exempt status.

Televangelist's Family Prospers From Ministry
Texas Religious Empire Under Scrutiny Over Its Tangle of Kinship
Kenneth Copeland Still Refuses to Comply With U.S. Senate Committee Probe Into Financial Records

MSNBC, in this article is exposing the fortune that makes up the Kenneth Copeland family and close friend's empire, all through the IRS tax exempt donated funds in the name of "Christian" religion. There seems to be some very suspicious financial dealings I noted as I read the article, which is probably why Copeland's empire is now under governmental scrutiny. Some excerpts:
  • "There are far too many relatives here," said Frances Hill, a University of Miami law professor who specializes in nonprofit tax law. "There's too much money sloshing around and too much of it sloshing around with people with overlapping affiliations and allegiances by either blood or friendship or just ties over the years. There are red flags all over these relationships."
Neither Kenneth Copeland nor John Copeland, Kenneth's son and the ministry's executive director, responded to interview requests.
  • Copeland's current salary is not made public by his ministry. However, the church disclosed in a property-tax exemption application that his wages were $364,577 in 1995; Copeland's wife, Gloria, earned $292,593.
The Copeland family, however, is involved in ventures beyond the church world.
  • Marilyn Phelan, a Texas Tech University law professor and author on nonprofit law, said the practice could pose problems. Both the IRS and Texas state law prohibit benefits beyond reasonable compensation for insiders, including board members, she said. If violations are found, nonprofits can lose their tax-exempt status and board members can face penalty taxes. Full Story Here
Related to this story is another one from the Baptist Press reporting that Kenneth Copeland refuses to comply with a senate investigation by Senator Grassley.
  • Four television ministries still have refused to comply fully with a U.S. Senate committee's probe into their financial records nearly nine months after first being asked. Continues at link

Jesus said "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Mark 10:25 Jesus had a reason for teaching this and those who seek after and put their trust in money to buy the riches of this world, and not seek  the provider of all things, are putting their eternal souls in great danger.

Todd Bentley At USC-"They Loved The Darkness Rather Than The Light"

The story you are about to read is true from The Lawman's Chronicles Blog, written by Tony Miano, and is about thirteen evangelists who went to Todd Bentley's "revival" at Galen Center (USC) to bring the Law and true Gospel of Christ to those in attendance. These people actually were opposed to the true Gospel of Christ, and wanted Todd Bentley's false gospel. Tony writes about the spiritul darkness and deception he encountered by those attending following, which is a compelling eye opener for Christians everywhere to the very sad spiritual condition of the majority of people attending, and this is probably only the "tip of the iceberg."

********
Thirteen fellow evangelists and I went to the Galen Center (USC). The purpose of our trip was to bring the Law and the Gospel to those waiting in line to enter the center, to hear the false prophet, Todd Bentley, and others.
When we arrived at the Galen Center, members of the team attempted to distribute gospel tracts to those standing in line. Based on the reports I received, half of the people in line refused to take the tracts.
It should be noted that the tract made no mention of Todd Bentley or any other spiritual personality.

I am not ashamed to admit that before stepping onto the box, I felt as nervous as I have ever felt before preaching in the open air. I was so nervous that I asked for more prayer. Members of the team gathered around me, laid hands on me, loved me, and prayed.

“Folks, many of you are here today because you believe the Holy Spirit will be in this place. I do not know you so I do not presume to question your sincerity. But are you sure what will take place here, today, will be brought about by the Holy Spirit? Or is it possible, even likely, that what will take place here today will be the work of other spirits?”

The crowd was very quick to respond…and they weren’t happy. They began to yell, chant, sing, and do everything they could to silence my preaching. As you can see in the above photo, they even turned their backs. Continues here.

Rick Warren Introducing Evangelical Christianity to the Social Gospel

Here's another short exposition, which I think is right on the money, written by the President of The Berean Call, Tom McMahon concerning Rick Warren's social gospel, with some good advice from Jude to Rick Warren.

"I believe that Rick has a low view of prophecy," McMahon contends. "Well, I think he needs to heed the words of Jesus [in Luke 18:8]: 'When the Son of Man cometh shall He find faith upon the earth?' Well, 'people of faith' yes, but certainly not the faith that Jude exhorts true believers to contend for." More at link.
*****
I love the writings of Jude.  For a one and three quarters page book in the Holy Scriptures, it is full of wisdom and teachings for the Christian.

The general epistle of Jude designates its author as "a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James" to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called, and its message was and is for Bible believing Christians wherever unity was threatened by heretical teaching and where Christian doctrinal and moral standards were questioned.

Of the social gospel and those who foster and promote this, I think the words of Jude from vs. 16-18 are very fitting wherein Jude writes, "These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there would be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual having not the Spirit."

Certainly the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, all of whom were severely persecuted and, who all except John, died a martyrs death for their preaching of sin and of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, certainly did not promote this purpose driven, seeker friendly, ungodly social gospel.

New Israeli Regulations Could Cripple Christian Ministries

Here's some bad news coming out of Israel today for Christian ministries working in Israel from Cross Action News
  • Israel’s Ministry of Interior has decided to reinstate an old regulation that is threatening to cripple, if not shut down, several Christian ministries by limiting the time volunteers can spend serving in Israel to 27 months.

The ruling was as sudden as it was drastic. The effects began to be felt earlier this month when three volunteers from Christian Friends of Israel, assuming their visas would be renewed at the Interior Ministry under the previous five-year agreement, were instead told they had two weeks to pack up and leave the country.

Since then, several more volunteers who have been in the country at least two years have been denied visa renewals and are planning hasty departures. Many others have been left with a heavy sense of uncertainty as their own visas come due in the following months. More at above link.

Ken Silva Chooses To Have Site Shut Down Over Alleged Slander

Another cat and dog fight is yet taking place with the usual suspects often referred to as "discernment" ministries, some of whom I have spoken about on this forum. Somewhere in between "he said, she said, tit for tat" lies the truth. This certainly does nothing to further the Gospel of Christ, and puts all believers in a bad light everywhere. The big winner here is satan and his demons and non believers, who must be having a great laugh over this one. From The Christian Newswire

  • A complaint filed by Christian author and apologist, Richard Abanes, claiming that one article on the religious opinion site, Apprising.org, had slandered him, caused the web host, IPower, to send its publisher, Ken Silva, a 48-hour warning to remove the offending piece or be taken down. In that the piece was not believed to be slander at all, but rather religious and theological opinion, he refused to be forced into censoring his site by Richard Abanes. The site went down. More from the Christian Newswire above.

To witness the strife and discord Ken Silva (and his supporters "in the name of discernment") have involved themselves in by not doing the right thing by taking the offensive material from his website down, go here. How godly is this? Wouldn't it just have been better for Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries, who says he is a pastor, to swallow his pride, take on the humility of Christ and take the offensive material down and be in compliance w/the Lord's Word?

I will quote a few scriptures concerning quarreling among Christians, which are very pertinent to what is happening here:

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

2 Timothy 2:23-25
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.

Update July 29, 2008: To all of my visitors: It has been noted that Ken Silva has his web site back up with what appears to be a different server. I urge all those who visit here to ignore what he posts concerning this controversy as it appears Mr. Silva is carrying on this controversy on the new sight inspite of the warnings written from Scripture. Please read all of the biblical verses above I have referred to.

Catholic Archbishop Says No Salvation Outside of Roman Catholic Church

According to an American archbishop, no one can be saved outside of the Roman Catholic Church. To put it bluntly, if you do not bow to the pope of Rome and embrace the Roman sacraments, including the eucharist, you will not receive forgiveness for your sins and go to be with the Lord when you leave this earth. Faith is Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross at calvary doesn't count. Anyone who has read the words of Jesus Christ will conclude that this is certainly an unbiblical belief. The archbishop says:

  • Without the Church, there’s no way we can have a lasting, personal relationship with the true Jesus, says archbishop More here

Going right along with this same topic of the Roman Catholic Church, I found another article from 2005 that is very relevant today in light of Pope Benedict's push for religions to unite, which adds to the above article where the pope says non believers too can be saved. Friends, this is not biblical Christianity at all. This is another gospel and a false religion. There is no salvation other than through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross where Jesus atoned for the sins of everyone. Here's the article. Anyone who thinks the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope represent biblical Christianity only needs to read the Words of Jesus and the writings of His chosen Jewish Apostles.

I have written three expositions listed in the sidebar under "No Category" titled "The Sabotage of Biblical Christianity by the Roman Catholic Church, and I strongly recommend any catholic viewers to read them.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10

Jesus said For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20. The church is not a denomination or a hugh institution such as the churh of Rome; it is a living body of believers in Jesus Christ from all over the world, past and present who have put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ to save them. The Roman Catholic church, or its eucharist, or all of its sacraments cannot save you. Only the blood of Jesus Christ saves by God's grace through faith.

Paul or Jesus? or Just Another Attempt to Discredit Christianity?

I came across this article, which appears to be what can only be a complete attempt to destroy the testimony of the Jewish Apostle Paul, his testimony of the Saviour Jesus Christ, and his writings, which compile most of the New Testament. It is apparent after reading this that the writer is simply another one who is on a mission to destroy Christianity. This poor deluded soul goes out of her way to pick apart the great and humble Apostle Paul's writings, in an effort to discredit Paul's apostleship and even goes so far to say Paul was not chosen by Jesus Christ as the original 12 Jewish Apostles were in her futile attempts to destroy Paul's credentials. She says:
  • " Paul was a self proclaimed Apostle, never was he appointed by Yahshua like the REAL twelve were."
This is a complete fallacy as Jesus Himself, in the Acts Of The Apostles, or Acts for short, emphasizes Paul as a chosen vessel for Him when speaking to the disciple of the Lord An-a-ni-as in a vision, saying:

  • Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.  Acts 9:15,16
Interesting, all of the scriptures in the New Testament she uses in her absurd attempts to discredit the Apostle Paul, she couldn't find the one I refer to above?

Anyway, I thought I would take the time to expose this fallacy and to warn people since Christianity is under attack more and more, you will be seeing more stuff like this.

Todd Bentley, Bob Jones, and Patricia King Practice Astral Projection

A highly recommended reading, for those who may not be aware, Bob DeWaay has written an excellent exposition featured in the Christian Worldview Network, outlining Todd Bentley, Bob Jones and Patricia King's occultic out of body experiences known as astral projection, wherein Mr. DeWaay highlights and compares the major differences between the Apostle Paul's biblical experience to the third heaven written in Scripture;
  • I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a man was caught up to the third heaven. And I know how such a man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows—was caught up into Paradise, and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak. (2Corinthians 12:2-4)

Israel: Messianic Jews Say Recently Discovered Dead Sea Scroll on Stone Validates Jesus' Claims

Messianic Jews of Israel Say Hebrew Tablet Validates Jesus' Claims

Here's an updated story out of Israel from Messianic Jews which gives a completely different opinion of the stone tablet dubbed a Dead Sea Scroll on stone with messianic writings on it relavent to Jesus the Messiah that was recently discovered, claiming the stone indeed challenges the very teachings by the orthodox rabbis.

By Dan WoodingFounder of ASSIST MinistriesISRAEL/JORDAN (ANS) --

Israeli Jewish believers in Jesus say the recently publicized Hebrew tablet describing the death and resurrection of a messianic figure challenges centuries of teachings by rabbinic Judaism that the redemptive process of Jesus was a departure from biblical Jewish understanding, according to a story carried on www.israeltoday.co.ilThe story says that the unique stone tablet dubbed “Gabriel's Revelation” contains 87 partial lines of archaic Hebrew in which the archangel commands a messianic ruler identified as the “Prince of Princes” to rise after having been dead for three days.“The tablet was found in neighboring Jordan some eight years ago, but just last week gained international attention after featuring as one of the centerpieces at a special Israel Museum event marking 60 years since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls,” said Israel Today. Pope Benedict Invites 'Religions' To Unite-Australia

In this video, Pope Benedict, during his recent Australia trip, urges religions to unite . This short clip further reveals the pope's push for a One World Religion, in the making before our very eyes. From the video:

Religion is a contributor to peace, and not to violence, testifying to friendship and reciprocal sharing, and not to hatred.

As a sign of the commitment to inter-religious dialogue and reconciliation among all people, a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI and about forty leaders of other faiths took place at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sidney. Continues at link

Faith Healer Todd Bentley Called a Fraud, False Teacher

Another alarm is being sounded from the Baptist Press, calling Todd Bentley a fraud and a false teacher, from Louisville, Ky.
  • Posted on Jul 23, 2008 by David Roach
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP)--A new faith healer is making headlines for his claims of supernatural powers, but conservative evangelical leaders warn that Todd Bentley is a fraud and a false teacher.Bentley, leader of a revival that began in Lakeland, Fla., this spring, is known for his multiple body piercings and tattoos, his violent healing techniques, his claims of angelic visions and "holy" laughter and "holy" vibrating shakes. Oxford professor Warns of Increasing Opposition To Christianity

Oxford Professor says the cross and death of Christ for sin under particular attack today. How true this is.

From Christianity Today UK, in this article, Dr. John Lennox an Oxford Professor, makes some very bold, but truthful statements in an apostate environment:

"History has come full circle and Christianity is seen once more simply as one among a plethora of competing alternatives, all of which are regarded by an increasing number of influential intellectuals as dangerous," stated Oxford professor Dr John Lennox at this year's Keswick Convention.

"We are called upon to defend the Gospel. It is on trial, faith is under fire, and it is not only its contents, it is the messengers, and we will increasingly find we have not only to defend the Gospel to the world but we have to defend it to believers as well."

Under particular attack, he said, is "what Paul had to say about the cross and the death of Christ for sin."

Dr Lennox, who is a Reader in Mathematics at Oxford University, turned to claims of immorality made by prominent atheist Christopher Hitchens, and God Delusion author Richard Dawkins, who denounced such a theory as madness.

"The attack is under full sway and the intensity is increasing and we need to understand and remind ourselves that Paul, the apostles and Jesus Christ stand or fall together.
"We shall have to count the cost of what it means to defend historical Christianity."

Dr Lennox also spoke of a loss of confidence.

"A danger that I see is all around ... is a loss of confidence in God's word and its authority. We have to decide what side we are on and whether we are going to stand with Paul and the apostles and have confidence in the word and maintain the faith for which many of our forefathers stood."

No where does scripture promise the Christian protection against persecution as your seeker friendly, purpose driven, signs and wonders seeking, social gospel churches of today would have one believe; real biblical Christianity promises the Christian you will be hated and persecuted as persecution and opposition to Jesus Christ and His gospel message of repentence of sin was the norm for the early New Testament Church saints.

Jesus said in Mark's Gospel "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same will save it.  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"8:34-36

Lakeland Ledger Reports Todd Bentley Leaving August 23

Revival Evangelist to Fold His Lakeland Tent

By Cary McMullen
LEDGER RELIGION EDITOR

LAKELAND Evangelist Todd Bentley, whose unorthodox appearance and methods have attracted worldwide attention, will leave the long-running revival he has led here, it was announced Monday, although the local pastor who brought Bentley to Lakeland vows the revival will continue.

Bentley's last day leading the Florida Outpouring revival will be Aug. 23, said Lynne Breidenbach, revival spokesperson. The enormous white tents on the grounds of Sun n' Fun Fly-in, where the revival has been held since early June, will be taken down after that night's service. More here
******
I for one will be glad to see him go as I think there are so many more important things to focus our attention on in these perilous times that we live in.  I think more than enough alarms have been sent out by discerning Christians to warn others of this wolf, even though many still refuse to believe the warnings even after all of the scriptural evidence and videos presented.

He will now take his false revival show over seas and continue in his demonic work before spiritual hungry crowds, searching for God in signs and wonders as many similar false prophets and false apostles before him have done, deceiving those with itching ears.

Remote Russian Sect Revolves Around Self-Proclaimed Messiah

A man claiming to be Jesus has gathered a strong following in Russia. More Photos

Deep in the heart of Siberia's birch forests lies one of the largest and most remote religious communes of the planet. More than 5,000 people have left their families and their homes to move here and join the Church of the Last Testament, which has more than 10,000 followers worldwide. The church centers on one man. He is known simply as Vissarion, meaning "he who gives new life," or simply as the teacher, and he claims that he is Jesus Christ. More here

I had to chuckle to myself at first when I read the headlines to this story, tho it's not really funny. I wonder if any of these people in Siberia have Bibles? But I imagine we will see more and more of this in these last days as Jesus himself warned us we would in Matthew's Gospel 24:4,5 of the signs of his coming and the end of the age:

Bible Challenged in New PBS Documentary, Says Exodus Not Real

Holy Moses! PBS Documentary Suggests Exodus Not Real Rewriting the Bible?

PBS documentary is now challenging the story of the Exodus by the children of Israel out of Egypt with Moses. Like all of the documentaries that have challenged Jesus Christ and his resurrection, this story has the aroma of a political agenda, where the Bible itself is being challenged since it was Moses who wrote the story of the Exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt, and Jesus Christ himself , in his rebuke of the Jewish pharisees said: For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words. John 6:46,47.

The closer we get to the retun of Jesus Christ, the more you will see satan and his minions, working through worldly minded men, attempting to discredit everything written in the Bible. It will never be done. Jesus Christ Himself said, Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Abraham didn't exist? The Exodus didn't happen? The Bible's Buried Secrets, a new PBS documentary, is likely to cause a furor."It challenges the Bible's stories if you want to read them literally, and that will disturb many people," says archaeologist William Dever, who specializes in Israel's history. Who Do You Follow: Todd Bentley or the Word of God?

Keeping The Fire Burning has written an excellent first hand testimony she is sharing of why it is so important to check the Word of God out for ourselves, and follow His Word only, especially in these days of apostasy, inspite of what church leaders, false prophets and false apostles like Todd Bentley and Rick Joyner tell you. Vicki says:
  • Time and time again throughout the years, I allowed false prophets and teachers to convince me that I was not hearing from God if I was questioning their teachings. I became severely depressed because I was sure that I would never be a good submitted Christian. I withdrew from church, but I thank God that He continued to draw me to the Bible and that He was able to reach me and restore me through His Word before it was too late.
There is nothing satan likes better than to rob Christians of their joy in the Lord, which is our strength, and keep one so depressed that he/she cannot function. Nehemiah 9:10 tells us :"for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Do you have Christian joy? " The Lord's joy, which comes from His Holy Spirit, is essential "to fight the good fight of faith, " I Timothy 6:12. When we lose our joy to depression, we no longer have the strength to carry on to fight the good fight of faith, and give up. A big red flag should go up whenever a "church leader" tells anyone it is wrong to question their teachings, as these are the tactics cults use to keep their followers hooked and brainwashed. Gift of Discernment or Gossip?

Biblical discernment is a wonderful gift to have. But we must be careful not to confuse discernment with gossip.

A great lesson, Watchman or Gossip, has been posted at Herescope's blog, which reminds me of the strawman's argument I discovered going around the blogsphere concerning Christianity in general and our Chistian brother RayComfort by Apprising Ministries and Slice of Laodicea, crying wolf when no wolf was present. Friends, we must be extra cautious not to slander other brothers and sisters in Christ,( or anyone for that matter) cause, discord among the brethren, partake in gossip, or attempt to discredit their ministries, or interfer with what the Lord is doing through them, which is what I see happening here.

Some of these same sites that label themselves "discerning" ministries actually had debates over this, in an attempt to what I see as justifying their erroneous actions and which only serves to remind me of the fact that even the pharisee's tried to tell Jesus what to do, which appears to be the case with Ray Comfort and these sites; in most cases all linked to one another.

Some people unwittingling, and wittingly, in an effort to promote their own blogs and websites, and self, which is of the flesh and not of God, will do this type of thing and we must be very careful not to take part in it. It sure looks as if a witchhunt took place here as the latest gossip from Slice of Laodicea concerning Brother Comfort takes on a soap opera effect to keep the viewers tuned in, in an apparent attempt to support the strawman's argument against Ray Comfort.  This is a perfect example of what I am talking about, and thus my only reason for putting it up here, as there are biblical truths and lessons to be learned from all of this.

Proverbs 6:16 reads: These six things doth the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

1. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.
2. An heart that deviseth wicked imagination, feet that be swift in running to mischief.
3. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

The Bible addresses gossip in many places and the Apostle Paul, in writing to the church at Corinth also addresses it:

2 Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest ther be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults

1 Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; andnot only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

For some, taming the tongue is one of the hardest things to do.

Interview With Stage 4 Cancer Patient Todd Bentley Kicked

Remember the stage IV metastatic cancer patient that Todd Bentley kicked in the stomach a short while back?

Battle4Truth has posted quite an inspiring testimony from this fella, Roger, is his name. From reading his comments, it seems he is quite the man of faith and accepts his lot in life, come what may.

Being in the medical profession, from what he writes, I can say that this man has been a very sick man and by all accounts, probably should not be here. It seems quite obvious to me that he has had some divine intervention from the Great Physcian Jesus Christ along the way in his uphill battle. You can read about it hear

Messianic Prophecies and Jesus Christ

Did you ever stop and think about the hundreds of prophecies that literally predicted the coming of the Messiah Jesus, starting in Genesis that were literally fulfilled by Him? It simply amazes me that how hundreds of prophecies written over a time span of a thousand years before Christ, in the Old Testament, by several Hebrew inspired authors or prophets of God, in the same amount of books, could put a Book called the Bible together so perfectly that it fits like a glove in the New Testament. It really boggles my mind. Only God could do that.

God, being all knowing, knew beforehand that man would be deceived by the serpent, and had a plan way back in the Garden of Eden to save the human race which He had created because he loves His creation. God told the serpent in Genesis 3:15

  • And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shalt bruise his heel.
And that God did. God's prophet Isaiah, inspired by the Holy Spirit, foretold of the Messiah Jesus Christ, who would bruise the serpent's heel to reconcile God's human creation back to Him. Isaiah writes in Isaiah 7:14 of the birth of the Messiah, which could only have been fulfilled miraculously in Jesus as told in the New Testament in Matthew's Gospel 1:18,20.
  • Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel, meaning God is with us. Isaiah 7:14
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.18. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying Joseph, thou son of David, fear not; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 20

There are literally scores of Messianic prophecies foretelling the coming of Jesus that he literally fulfilled. Take for instance the fact He would be a descendant of Abraham as the Hebrew prophet Moses wrote in Genesis 12 and Chapter 22, and fulfilled by Jesus as shown in Matthew's Gospel Chapter 2, and Galatians 3:16. Or that the Messiah would be of the tribe of Judah, also written by Moses in Genesis 49:10 and fulfilled in Jesus in Luke's Gospel Chapter 3.

2 Samuel Chapter 7 predicts that the Messiah would be of the house of David and this is confirmed and fulfilled in Jesus Christ in Matthew's Gospel Chapter 1, and a minor prophet Micah writes that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem in Chapter 5, which was literally fulfilled in Jesus as written in Matthew's Gospel Chapter 2 and Luke's Gospel Chapter 2.

Of His miracles the prophet Isaiah again predicts them in Chapter 35, which Jesus the Messiah fulfilled in Matthew's Gospel Chapter 9; and that He would preach good news foretold by Isaiah in Chapter 61 and confirmed in Jesus in Luke's Gospel Chapter 4. Isaiah even pinpoints that Jesus would minister in the Galilee in Chapter 9, which Jesus did as Matthew's Gospel tells us in Chapter 4.

Another minor Hebrew prophet of God, Zechariah, even predicted Jesus famous ride into Jerusalem on a donkey as king in Chapter 9. Matthew records this, too in Chapter 21, and the Psalms even predicted the rejection of the Messiah in 118.

God has written a beautiful love letter of salvation by His grace to anyone who wants to read it and accept it. The Messianic story of Jesus Christ doesn't end here. He died a horrible humiliating death on the cross to atone for the sins of the human race by his own blood, and then rose again from the dead on the third day, and defeated death all predicted and fulfilled by him. Some day you too will die and spend eternity somewhere.
The Bible says in Romans 6:23, written by the Apostle Paul "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord," and in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" Romans 5:12.
Those who have turned their lives over to Jesus Christ and have repented of their sins and are trusting in Jesus to save them will never die, as the Bible and Christianity tells us, but are given eternal life. No other religion can do that except Christianity through Jesus Christ, God's only Son. This gift is free for everyone from our heavenly Father. But time is getting short and soon the door to God's grace will be shut, and severe judgment will fall upon this world because of wickedness and evil, as in the days of Noe and Lot. Have you turned your life over to Jesus Christ while the door remains open yet for awhile longer?

More On The One World Religious System and Tony Blair

A One World Religion in the name of anti- malaria, Carla from More Books And Things, has come up with an interesting short clip and video that compliments my article here about Tony Blair's mission to unite all religions. Good find, Carla! It seems as if God's prophetic clock has accelerated within the last week with the birth of the Mediterranean Union and the formation of a one world religious system progressing. News Alert from UTT:

  • The following video clip of Tony Blair promoting his newly formed Faith Foundation with the purpose of working together with all faiths in order to eradicate malaria is a must view for anyone concerned about the road towards a one world religion.

Also, while viewing this clip, you will see a startling similarity to Pastor Rick Warren's P.E.A.C.E. Plan and his objective to work together with all faiths to attack AIDS. As a note of interest, Rick Warren is a member of the Tony Blair's advisory board for the Faith Foundation.

Have We Entered the Prophetic 70th Week of Daniel?

Holly, over at Fulfilled Prophecy asks an interesting question; one I have been wondering about myself. Did we enter the 70th Week of Daniel on Jan. 1, 2007? Holly says, 'Let’s look at what’s happened in the past year and a half and see if this theory still holds up,"and puts together some very compelling data that seems to say we may have:

1.The gradual dawn of false peace over the Middle East with the return of Israel’s temple sacrifices
2.The rise of a global religious movement that will include evangelical leaders
3.The establishment of a new global order.

I for one am watching this very closely and awaiting Christ's return.

They That Wait Upon The Lord

This post from Carol at The Bible Thumper's Soapbox reminds me of all of the times I have begged the Lord in prayer to give me a certain job "I" wanted, even though it may not be the one "He" wanted me to have; and often times after taking a certain job because of the high pay it offered, I would only find myself disillusioned and very unhappy and in the same rut I had just left. Sometimes the Lord will let us have what "we want", I have discovered, if we become so impatient and anxious that we take what we want rather than prayfully waiting upon the Lord to direct our paths, as He surely will if we wait! I don't know about you, but waiting upon the Lord is not the easiest thing for me to do, but I am learning that while I am waiting, He is teaching me valuable lessons He wants me to learn and drawing me closer to Him.

Isaiah 40:31  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.

    What a glorious promise!

Cancer's Unexpected Blessings from Christianity Today and Tony Snow

I was so blessed from reading Christianity Today's article paying tribute to Tony Snow, which speaks of his great Christian faith in God and His Word, and how he was able to overcome his personal obstacles because of it, that I felt lead to share it with all of my readers. I hope, after you read this, you will be as blessed as I was. It seems that Tony, like the Apostle Paul, had the Spirit to be thankful in all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ [Ephesians 5:20] for this is the will of the Lord, inspite of his cancer. An excerpt:

    • "Third, we can open our eyes and hearts. God relishes surprise. We want lives of simple, predictable ease—smooth, even trails as far as the eye can see—but God likes to go off-road. He provokes us with twists and turns. He places us in predicaments that seem to defy our endurance and comprehension—and yet don't. By his love and grace, we persevere. The challenges that make our hearts leap and stomachs churn invariably strengthen our faith and grant measures of wisdom and joy we would not experience otherwise."

So Todd Bentley Is Coming Back To Lakeland

Like any actor or showman, he craves all the attention he is receiving from his deluded followers and the worldwide media., and those of us--discerning Christians. And like any bad habit or addiction, if you want to get rid of it, you simply don't feed it. I think Todd Bentley can be compared to a bad habit that you can't get rid of, unless Christ's church stops feeding it. And there is nothing that satan likes more than to take all of the attention off of Jesus by His church and have it focused on him and those doing satan's work, in this case, Todd Bentley.

Jesus said in John's Gospel 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

For me, the Lord Jesus Christ, who he is, and what he is doing in the world around me and in me is far more important and exciting to write about, so I have decided to leave Todd Bentley and his satanic tactics behind. There is only so much one can say about this false prophet Todd Bentley, and I think I have said enough.

Todd Bentley Will Be Back At Lakeland Starting July 18

God-TV is announcing that Todd Bentley will be back at Lakeland, with live coverage starting July 18:

TODD BENTLEY BACK AT LAKELAND FROM THIS FRIDAY

Are The Ten Kings of Daniel 7 About To Arise?

    Mediterranean Union Is Born!
Toni, from Files From Toni wonders: Are the ten kings of Daniel 7:24 about to arise? This bears watching very closely..Prophecy in the making....
"And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings."

"Mediterranean Union is Born: Intriguing; disturbing and prophetic

An intriguing new geopolitical entity was born over the weekend that could in ways small and large dramatically change the course of Europe and the Middle East in the years ahead. At a series of ceremonies in Paris -- in a palace overlooking the River Seine -- leaders from 43 countries comprising 756 million people met officially to form the "Mediterranean Union," to fight terrorism, end WMD proliferation, enhance regional security, and promote free trade, economic development, and tourism. The brainchild of French President Nicholas Sarkzozy, the M.U. is certainly not a formal military or economic alliance by any stretch. Not yet, at least. But significantly, it does include all the nations of the European Union, Israel and all the countries of North Africa. The sole exception is Libya, whose leader, Muammar Gadaffi, denounced the organization as the rise of a "another Roman Empire." Gadaffi is right. That's precisely what we're seeing, and this does not fit in prophecy in my opinion.

    From Gulfnews.com
    • In his efforts to reform France and the European Union, Sarkozy is now looking at the south Mediterranean region as a vital sphere of both influence and cooperation. And by limiting that union to ten members (5+5) he is trying to maximise the chances for success taking the Barcelona experience in hindsight.
Are we seeing the Iron and Clay( 5+5) and the 10 horns of Nebuchadnezzar's Prophetic Dream and Daniel's intepretation here?  Only more time will tell., but personally I do not think the beast kingdom will come as a "revived Roman Empire."

I think the eighth  kingdom, or the last earthly kingdom to arise will be the Islamic Caliphate, (which conquered the old  Roman Empire ) from which the beast kingdom , number 7 and the final earthly beast  kingdom number eight, comes from, and will involve or include parts of all four of the other kingdoms, i.e., Babylon, Medeo-Persia, Greek, and Rome,  which we are seeing today as radical islam becomes more dominant in the world while at the same time, the islamification of Europe takes place.  I explain my reasoning more following:

     Daniel wrote in his interpretation:

"And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed, and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Daniel 2:42-44.

And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them; for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:12-14

    UPDATED: February 26, 2011

Before it can be determined where the anti-christ kingdom comes from, we first have to identify the empires or kingdoms in biblical times. Most students of the Bible who have studied this topic at length agree that the kingdoms are the Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Medo-Persia, Greek, and Rome, each kingdom  having been conquered by the kingdom taking its place.

Again, in Revelation 17, we read:

“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short while. Vs. 10

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into peridition. Vs. 11

And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. Vs.12

These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.Vs. 13

Notice John writes that the first five kingdoms in verse 10 above have fallen. At the time John wrote this revelation, the kingdom in power was the Roman Empire, or kingdom number six, and had not been conquered yet. I will note at this time that it is important to remember what "revived Roman Empire" antichrist kingdom proponents have forgotten, or ignored; the Roman empire was not located in a single country, it was made up of several modern day countries. which  encompassed most of Europe and Britain, Africa and the Mideast. It's capitol was at first Rome, then Constantinople, which is now Istanbul in modern day Turkey, a muslim nation.

Likewise, in Daniel's vision from the beginning of this article, we again note what Daniel saw:
"And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings."Daniel 7:24, and verse 25 reads "And he (antichrist) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given unto his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Now I will jump to the eighth kingdom mentioned above, whom John writes is of the seven. This beast kingdom, or number seven, was (an empire) at one time and has gone into peridition. So now, we have to determine who was kingdom number seven to determine who this final beast kingdom number eight,  or anti-christ kingdom is, which really isn’t too difficult.

From John’s vision, I know that kingdom number six is Rome, still intact at the time John wrote his revelation,  and a seventh kingdom had to arise to conquer the Roman Empire. History tells us that the only empire to come about and defeat the Roman Empire was the Islamic Caliphate.

First, the western part of the Roman Empire was conquered by the Barbarians, but history also tells us that  it wasn’t until 1453 that the eastern part of the Roman Empire fell to the Ottoman Turkish Empire, or Islamic Caliphate.  I have now  identified what I believe to be  the seventh empire as being Islamic; therefore, the beast kingdom, or antichrist kingdom number eight seen in John’s revelation above will be an Islamic Empire, or an Islamic Caliphate.  And from Daniel's vision of Daniel 7:24-25, I come to the conclusion that the  anti-christ will come from the muslim religion.
And the beast that was,(Ottoman Turkish Empire) and is not, even he is the eighth,(Islamic Caliphate) and is of the seven,(Ottoman Turkish Empire) and goeth into peridition. Vs. 11
These are my thoughts on this.  Only time will tell.

Stay focused on Jesus Christ friends, this could get very exciting fast.

Tony Blair on Mission to Unite Religions

One World Religious System Being Birthed...

Am I reading this right?! Tony Blair wants to unite all religions? The handwriting is on the wall friends that the one world religious system of Revelation 13 is being birthed right before our very eyes!

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

And I saw one of his heads as it were were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" 2-4

The Strategy is reporting that Tony Blair is on a mission to unite all religions. As was reported here, Mr. Blair, himself recently converted to Roman Catholicism. And here you have the pope saying the Roman Catholic Church is the only church established by Jesus! It's not too difficult to read in between the lines and connect the dots.
    *************
On the eve of the launch of his "faith foundation", the former prime minister also said faith had given him the courage to make unpopular decisions he knew were right during his 10 years in office.

In an interview with Time magazine, Mr Blair said faith could be "a civilising force in globalisation", bringing different peoples together to solve the world's problems.
He argued: "Faith is part of our future, and faith and the values it brings with it are an essential part of making globalisation work." Mr Blair's foundation, which will be officially launched in New York today, will attempt to bring religions together to tackle major global issues such as the UN's eight millennium development goals, which range from eradicating extreme poverty to ensuring environmental sustainability.
    Continues at the Strategy
    *************

Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life: NO MAN cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6, and in Revelation 14:3-5 "For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornicaion with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."

Membership in the Club of Rome, in a church or belonging to this worldly apostate church system will not give you eternal life or get you into Heaven. It is your faith in Jesus Christ, believing by the shedding of his blood alone for your sins, that saves you, and will give you eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Be ready. Are you saved? Have you repented of your sins and are you trusting in Jesus only to save you? Now’s the time. The day of salvation is at hand. The great falling away is literally upon us and the anti-Christ could appear at any time. If you are not sure if you are saved, go here.

Since the brutal attack on Ami Ortiz, the Messianic Jews of Israel have been in the spotlight, with mass media coverage from Christian bloggers to secular media covering their persecuted plight in Israel.  Out of all of this, some good news appears to be surfacing.

    CBN is reporting that

In Israel, a resurgence in the number of Jews who believe in Jesus is getting a lot of attention. Many leaders say it's the strongest growth since the time of Jesus and that the Messianic movement could be on the brink of a great revival.

"This is the first time where we've seen Israeli society in general being so open to consider who Yeshua is," said Messianic leader Asher Intrater. "This is a real miracle, and there's beginning to be grace and favor with us in the land." Continues here

Todd Bentley Feeling the Heat in Lakeland

Is Todd Bentley feeling the heat in Lakeland?

USAToday Fast Rising Preacher's 'Healings' Draw Ire

Update: After this story aired on  "Nightline," Fresh Fire Ministries released a statement announcing that preacher Todd Bentley would be taking time off "to refresh and to rest" after having spent four months in Lakeland, Fla, leading revival meetings.  In the meantime, their Lakeland broadcasts on GOD TV are put on hold.

Having spent considerable time in southern Florida as a medical missionary, I know it can get rather hot there.  But since word has been received and is spreading fast that Todd Bentley is leaving the Lakeland Revival, I cannot help but wonder if he, God-TV and all of these false prophets and false apostles involved in the Florida Outpouring are feeling the heat from all of the negative publicity they have been receiving from discerning Christians over the internet, and the media and need to cool down?

I mean, word travels very fast these days via the internet and the bareans are shouting louder than ever sounding the wolf alarm.  And then there's Todd Bentley's calling down the 'Fire, Fire, Fire...' He's gotta be real hot by now.

Because Todd Bentley is taking time to cool off, we must not let our guard down.  Like any enemy in battle, once they have retreated, refreshed and regrouped to strengthen themselves, and rethink new war strategies and tactics, they return to implement them.  We must constantly be reminded that this battle is not over yet and remember here the words of the Apostle Peter in I Peter 5:8

Because of the bareans, praying and shouting wolf using the true Word of God throughout the airways, we have invaded the territory of the enemy, and these demonic forces operating through Todd Bentley have been restrained and forced to leave by the Lord Jesus Christ himself, and satan's scheme has been unexpectedly and abruptly haulted for now; how long only God knows.  but one thing is for sure;  we do know from the Apostle Paul's words written in Ephesians 6:12-18 that we must not let our guard down.

    From Ray Comfort's Blog

I found this on Ray Comfort's Blog and I thought to myself this is a wonderful attribute for any Christian person to possess; more than that, it gives us a bigger idea of the heart of the man behind the words who wrote it. In this case, C.H. Spurgeon and Ray Comfort. We can all be so thankful that there are still Godly men as Ray who take the words of Jude to heart "And to some have compassion, making a difference; And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire" vs. 22 .

Told By Todd Bentley He Is Healed, Goes Off Medication and Relapses

Friends, this is very serious business.  A young adult male went off his psychotrophic medication for schitzophrenia because he was told by Todd Bentley he was healed, fell into relapse and needed to be hospitalized to get his condition stabalized.

Hopefully, this will put this fraud Todd Bentley out of business.

    From the  Lakeland Ledger

    'Healed'? Double-Check

After the June 22 front-page article on the Florida Outpouring Revival ["Signs and Warnings"], I simply have to speak up. I am a psychotherapist. Several weeks ago, the mother of a young adult patient of mine called for an appointment for her son.

He had been stable for quite some time on his medications for schizophrenia. He had recently decompensated, and was hospitalized in order to stabilize him and restart his medications.

He had attended one of Todd Bentley's gatherings and was told by Mr. Bentley that he was "healed." He stopped his medications, only to relapse into psychosis.

The outcome could have been worse. My client has very risky behaviors when psychotic. He might have died.

Please, if you think you have been "healed" of mental or physical illness, please consult your doctor before stopping medications or treatment. Your life may depend on it.

Todd Bentley Taking Time Out From Lakeland

Todd Bentley is taking time out from Lakeland, Jon at Living in the Way is reporting. Too much negative publicity. Excerpt from 'Nightline Segment' "When asked to present evidence of the healings, Bentley promised to give "Nightline" the names and medical records of three followers who would talk openly about his miracles. He never delivered. Instead, his staff gave "Nightline" a binder filled with what he says are inspiring miracles, but with scant hard evidence. It offered incomplete contact information, a few pages of incomplete medical records, and the doctors' names were crossed out." I agree w/Jon this is a true miracle. Jon says:

    • However,... isn't it strange that Todd is starting his "time off" the very next night after his failed Nightline segment AND in the direct middle of the time (June 22 - July 22) that was prophesied to be the BIGGEST & BEST outpouring of God's presence since Acts 2, when "the Glory" would fall in its FULLEST, according to Todd Bentley and Bob Jones? I believe this is a GOOD SIGN. I pray that without Todd Bentley in the limelight that many will quit watching and quit following the "fire" in Lakeland. More

Friends, the Roman Catholic Church Institution wasn't even around in early Biblical Christianity times when the twelve Jewish Apostles chosen by the Saviour Himself, Jesus Christ, founded His church. He said my kingdom is not of this world in John 18:36; Wherever Romanism has gone, extravagant manmade, unbiblical and unbelievable dogmas have been manufactured to obtain the devotion and the money of the deluded and deceived.

The Roman Catholic Church false teaching has deceived multitudes for centuries into believing that the Jewish Apostle Peter was its first Pope thereby staking its claim as being the one true church of Christ on earth, and succeeding popes being its vicar of Christ. Folks, this is a lie from satan. There were no pastors whoever claimed the authority and position that the Roman popes have claimed. From MSNBC
LORENZAGO DI CADORE, Italy - Pope Benedict XVI has reasserted the universal primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says Orthodox churches were defective and that other Christian denominations were not true churches.

Benedict approved a document from his old offices at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith that restates church teaching on relations with other Christians. It was the second time in a week the pope has corrected what he says are erroneous interpretations of the Second Vatican Council, the 1962-65 meetings that modernized the church. More

Star Tribune Warns Its Readers About Todd Bentley

Area's readers warned of Todd Bently's actions in Lakeland

The StarTribune has written a three page negative account of Todd Bentley's bizarre claims and actions in Lakeland, which serves as a good warning to the area's readers in the Minneapolis-St Paul area.

'Healing' revival in Lakeland, Fla., has stoked fire in Pentecostal community
    • Expecting critics, Bentley's ministry distributed a list of 15 people it said were cured, and vetted by his ministry, with all but three of their stories "medically verified."
Yet two phone numbers given out by the ministry were wrong, six people did not return telephone messages and only two of the remainder, when reached by The Associated Press, said they had medical records as proof of their miracle cure. However, one woman would not make her physician available to confirm the findings, and the other's doctor did not return calls despite the patient's authorization. Ten Commandments Judge Fights to Keep Gideon Bibles in Missouri Schools

A few days ago I wrote a piece about the Honorable Roy Moore and here he is again, fighting to keep the Gideon Bibles in the Missouri Schools. Thank God for men like Judge Moore.

Judge Roy Moore and Foundation for Moral Law File Brief Defending Distribution of Gideon Bibles in Missouri School District
    by Staff July 10, 2008

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore and attorneys with the Foundation for Moral Law argued in an amicus curiae brief filed today that Gideons International's 30-year tradition of distributing Bibles to fifth-grade students in the South Iron R-1 School District in Missouri did not violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. In this case, Roark v. South Iron R-1 School District, after the American Civil Liberties Union sued, a Missouri federal district court ordered the schools to stop allowing the Gideons to distribute Bibles, even though any other outside group may distribute material to the students. The South Iron School District is now appealing the case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.

Judge Roy Moore commented on this important case:
"For a school district to allow the Gideons to distribute Bibles to fifth-graders is no more an establishment of religion than for a school to require the parents of such children to pay for school lunches with money marked 'In God We Trust.' The South Iron school policy allows others to distribute materials, so why should the Gideons be singled out for mistreatment

Saudi Arabia To Host Major Inter Faith Conference

    Franklin Graham Going Ecuminical?
Highest Profile Interfaith Meeting in Recorded History to be Held in Madrid

Hmmm... Ecuminism certainly is not a biblical teaching, since  the Bible clearly tells us in Galatians 3:29 that if ye be  Christ's, then ye are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise so I have to question why would the distinguished preacher's son of the Rev. Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, take part in such an unbiblical summit?

Here's some interesting news from The Christian Post

Christians, Jews and Muslims will gather in Madrid later this month for what could be one of the highest profile interfaith meetings in recorded history.

The three-day conference hosted by Saudi Arabia, aims to highlight the attendees' shared heritage as children of Abraham and lists many prominent leaders and figures of faith including evangelist Franklin Graham, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and former Vice President Al Gore.

Also among the 200 prominent religious leaders will be major Jewish leaders including Rabbi David Rosen, the former chief rabbi of Ireland and head of the interfaith committee of the American Jewish Committee. More at Christian Post link

    Do We Still Have Apostles?

Todd Bentley a Prophet? An apostle? Not according to Scripture.

The New Apostolic Reformation, a term manufactured by C. Peter Wager, a very influential person who rules over the International Coalition of Apostles, is a term that has been thrown around and getting much attention in recent weeks since Todd Bentley has been on the scene in Lakeland performing his 'miraculous stunts.' Other 'prophets' and 'apostles' names that have been popping up in the public spot light along with Todd Bentley include William Braham [now deceased- December 1965], Rick Joyner, Paul Cain, the Kansas City Prophets, and the list of names goes on and on likened to the who's who in today's prophets and apostles; and these same individuals are all a part of another term you have been hearing so much about in recent weeks called the Latter Rain Revival Movement.

These counterfeit prophets and apostles have twisted and perverted and have actually rewritten the Scriptures to fit into their preconceived ideas, and think that they are the chosen prophets and apostles of God, are superior to Christ's church, and His original chosen Apostles, and are the elites whom God has chosen to reveal His Will and last days prophecies and revelations through, even though Jesus Christ and His original Apostles and Hebrew Prophets have already given us the prophetic Word, and these self appointed prophets and apostles actually believe that God's Holy Spirit can be transferred or 'imparted' from one of these 'elite 'apostles' who has the 'anointing' by the laying on of hands through "their own will". Certainly no where in Scripture can any of this be substantiated.

The Christian faith is and always has been a faith that has its roots in and from the Old Testament, the Israelites and Hebrew Prophets, Jesus Christ the Messiah Himself being a Jew, His original chosen Apostles being Israelites, all of the prophets from Abraham being a Hebrew, Genesis 14:13 and the Bible itself being a Jewish Book, written by Hebrews inspired by God's Holy Spirit, and reveals God's plan of salvation and redemption to the human race through the the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of Mark clearly tells us whom Jesus chose as His twelve Jewish Apostles. "And he goeth  up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would and they came unto him.  And he ordained twelve, that should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach.  And to have power to heal sickness, and cast out devils:  And Simon he surnamed Peter; and James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Bo-an-er-ges, which is, he sons of thunder: And Andrew and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Al-phae-us, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Ca-naan-ite, and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him; and they went into an house". 5:13-19  Matthias replaced Judas Iscariot Acts 1:23-26.

The Jewish Apostle Paul was also directly chosen by Jesus Christ on the Road to Damascus and after the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ commanded the disciple Ananias in a vision to put his hands on Paul to restor Paul's sight after Paul's dramatic conversion saying "Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and children of Israel.  First I will shew him how great he must suffer for my name's sake.  Acts 9:11-16. The Apostle Paul refers to himself as the least of the apostles because he persecuted the church of God. - 1 Corinthians 15:9

James, the Lord's brother, as it is written by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:18, 19 is called an apostle.

The choice of the twelve was Christ's alone, according to Mark's Gospel. His twelve Apostles were crucial to the foundation of the early Christian Church and the writing of the New Testament. Jesus made no mistakes over His choice of Apostles to set the foundation for His church for all generations. This is verified in the words of Jesus himself where He says such things to His Apostles as "Have not I chosen you twelve and one of you is a devil?"  John 6:70- "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you that ye should bring forth fruit." John 15:16, "but I have chosen you out of the world." John 15:19.

Concerning the twelve Apostles, Strong's Greek-Hebrew Concordance gives us the definition of what it means to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ.

G652ἀπόστολοςapostolosap-os'-tol-osFrom G649; a delegate; specifically an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ (“apostle”), (with miraculous powers): - apostle, messenger, he that is sent.

Thus, we see that an apostle  was a messenger or ambassador sent out by Christ with miraculous powers to establish the foundation for the early Christian church, as Mark's text shows us:

"And he ordained twelve that they should be with him, that he might send them for to preach., And to have power to heal sickness, and to cast out devils."  This is again established and confirmed in the Acts of the Apostles, or Acts.

Jesus' Apostles were a very special group of men with a very special and unique calling upon their lives.  If you read Luke's Gospel Chapter 6, you will find that Jesus prayed all night before He chose his apostles, from his many disciples.  12, 13.  Jesus had many other disciples the Gospels tell us, but Jesus only chose twelve; others were never called to be Apostles.

The Bible also gives us the special criteria or qualifications to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ in Acts Chapter 1, which does not include the Lord's Apostle Paul, whom the Lord chose after His Resurrection according to Acts 1:21,22
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus Christ went in and out among us, Beginning from the baptism of John, unto the same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.  Acts 1:21,22
This means that whomever was called to be an Apostle by Jesus Christ Himself, he must have been  with Jesus Himself and been ordained of Him and an eye witness to His Resurrection.

This means Todd Bentley and his associates, who call themselves an apostle, are frauds and impostors. The Apostle Paul established the claims of apostleship in 2 Corinthians 12:12 when he wrote to the church at Corinth. "Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders and mighty deeds," and warned the hurch at Corinth of many false prophets and apostles entering the church then in 2 Corinthians 11:2-5, just as we see Todd Bentley and friends doing likewise today.

In 2 Corinthians 11:13, the Apostle Paul writes "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ."

A true and genuine apostle of Christ in the Apostle Paul's day had all the signs and  power given to them by the Holy Spirit in actual cloven tongues like fire described in the Acts of the Apostles in Chapter 2 so the people would know who they were and believe upon the Lord Jesus Christs to establish the foundation of the early New Testament Church of Jesus Christ.

According to the Scriptures, the Apostle Paul and the other Apostles of Jesus Christ did many, many miraculous signs and wonders, and this was done to confirm their special calling upon their lives, and who they were.  For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom. I Corinthians 1:22

The true and genuine chosen Apostles of Jesus Christ, unlike Todd Bentley and associates, represented God on earth in a very special way by remitting sins or retaining them according to John 20:22,23. They could bind or loose on earth and that would be bound or loosed in heaven it is written in Matthew 18:18. Whenever they spoke the Word of God, they confirmed it with signs and wonders following.

Todd Bentley and company does not meet any of the Scriptural criteria and qualifications set forth as a prophet or apostle of God, is in fact a fraud and must be avoided at all costs. Folks just need to read the Bible because everything has already been written down for us by the Israelites and Hebrew prophets divinely inspired by God's Holy Spirit so that we will be able to discern the truth from the lies.

Many scriptural verses within the New Testament itself give testimony and evidence that there are no more apostles since the biblical apostles have passed away. One of my favorites and a very good example of this is from Jude Chapter 1:3 where he writes  "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needed for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude then goes on to write about how certain men have crept into the church 'unaware', calling them ungodly men, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ in vs. 4.  Then in verse 17 of Jude, he writes "But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ."

We need to remember that the teachings of our Lord and His chosen Apostles is the authorative Word of the New Testament, and these verses from Jude, who is Thaddaeus and one of the Lord's twelve chosen apostles,  alone establishes that they were given once and for all, for all generations, as the foundation for the Church of Jesus Christ and we are not to accept the words of anyone who calls themselves an apostle or prophet.
