- Da Vinci Code sequel Angels and Demons is "harmless entertainment," according to the Vatican's official newspaper
#####
Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say about demons since the Bible gives us some insight and examples of people being possessed and influenced by demonic forces.
In Matthew Chapter 9, Matthew records a dumb man brought to Jesus possessed with a devil and when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake. vs. 33,34. So here we have a case of a physical problem caused by a demon where a man was unable to speak.
In Matthew Chapter 12, it is recorded one who was possessed with a devil, blind and dumb, and after Jesus healed him, he was able to speak and see. vs. 22,23. This is another case of a physical ailment caused by demon possession.
Matthew records in Chapter 17 vs. 15 the story of a man who brought his son to Jesus asking for mercy upon him for "he is a lunatic", "and sore vexed", and Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him, and the child was cured from that very hour. vs. 18. Here you have a case where a demon was the cause of a mental illness.
The Bible is full of examples of demonic possession and the extremely harmful effects demons can have upon a person, to numerous to mention in this writing. King Saul, when he rebelled against the Lord, was troubled by an evil spirit, which caused depression and a desire to do harm to David.
Acts Chapter 16 speaks of a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination who gave her the ability to know things beyond her own learning.
The Vatican announcing to the world's Roman Catholics and the world in general that demons are harmless is giving way to harmful demonic possession and oppression to unaware and unsaved multitudes. I know of no scripture where a blood bought believer in Jesus Christ can be harmfully affected by demons as we have the Holy Spirit indwelling in us to protect us from satan's forces.

What an amazing and scary turn of events. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. All the more proof that John Paul was the last honest Pope.
