It's good to see the mainstream media pick up on this story. Time is now reporting on the plight of the Messianic Jews in Israel, the vicious attacks they have endured from the orthodox Jews, and the recent attempted murder of 15 year old Ami Ortiz, son of Messianic Pastor David Ortiz. Perhaps if the heat is turned up high enough on the Orthodox as this story stays front and center, the Israeli government will bring to justice those Orthodox reponsible for these attacks on the Messianics of Israel instead of looking the other way. The Orthodox Jewish establishment was hostile toward Jewish Christians and Christ himself in early New Testament times, and they still are today. Nothing's changed. The story follows.

The flyers appeared everywhere inside the Jewish settlement of Ariel, on car windshields and telephone poles, and in bus shelters. "Beware," it read, "these are the members of the Jewish Missionary Cult. They are baptizing Jews into Christianity." Included was a photo of Pastor David Ortiz and his address.
Ortiz didn't give it a thought. His Jewish neighbors liked him, and so did Ariel's mayor, who found Ortiz, originally from Brooklyn, useful in recruiting funds and political support from American and German Evangelicals for this stone-clad settlement on a breezy hilltop inside Palestinian territory.
But somebody disliked Ortiz and his beliefs enough to try to kill him and his family. Continues

This is the report that the police of Israel tried to prevent Channel 1 T.V. from showing and took Channel 1 to court twice and lost. The report, which is vividly graphic and reveals the extensive injuries Ami received throughout his entire body from the Purim package bomb that was delivered to his home and exploded, was shown on Channel 1 Israel on May 30, 2008 and is a very recent report.
