The Garden Tomb-He Is Not Here--He Is Risen

Picture in your mind if you will the heavy saddness that took over the hearts of Mary Magdalene and those women who went with her as they walked to the tomb where Jesus was buried on the first day of the week after he was brutally tortured by the Romans and then crucified. As they approached the sepulchre, the Scripture says they were greeted by the angel of the Lord who had rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

And the angel, knowing that the women were seeking Jesus, told them to fear not, "He is not here: for He is risen, as He said.""Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Then the angel told the women to go quickly, and tell the others, the disciples of Jesus that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee, there shall ye see him… Matthew Chapter 28

My friends, the Scriptures say the women were filled with great joy as they departed the sepulchre and ran to tell the others. Jesus had indeed risen from the dead, and is alive. Those that believe upon the Lord Jesus share in this great joy for we do not serve a dead god, as followers of other religions do. Jesus conquered the grave, something that no one has ever done. What a glorious God we serve. If you don’t know this Jesus, give your life to Him and His presence will be with you forever by His Holy Spirit who will live inside of you. He will never leave or forsake you, and like Jesus, no matter what the world may do to you, you will never die because Jesus promises all who are his, eternal life. Nothing but the blood of Jesus can give you this.
