Potentially Deadly Fungus Spreading in US, Canada

For those of you who live in the northwestern part of the United States or the Canadian province of British Columbia, be on the alert for a potentially new and deadly fungus that is spreading in the US and Canada.

The fungas is airborn, is called Cryptococcus gattii, and usually only infects transplant and AIDS patients and people with otherwise compromised immune systems, but the new strain is genetically different, the researchers said. More here.
