TODD BENTLEY, LAKELAND REVIVAL AND APOSTASY

We are in the thick of it and are witnessing the apostasy in the latter times or last days spoken of by Jesus and Paul and John as we witness the great fallen away partake at Todd Bentley's so-called healing revival. It is sad that so many would fall for such heretical, extrabiblical teachings in light of what Jesus and His Apostles have already warned us of.

I have read accounts from eyewitness claiming that those who have received this "impartation" with "the spirit" from Bentley have bizaare manifestations such as drunken like stupors, burning sensations within their veins and stomach and head, sensations of being floated back and forth as a wave upon the ocean, uncontrollable laughter, and screaming, eyes rolling to the back of their heads and people are actually believing this is of the Holy Spirit and God? Some claim to have fallen down and unable to get back up because of an invisible force holding them down. Where in the Gospels did this ever happen by The Holy Spirit? Anything that cannot be found in Scripture must be completely rejected. And where is all the documented evidence by reputable medical doctors of the "thousands of healings" supposedly to have taken place as the Scriptures instruct to "prove all things?" I Thess 5:21.

When Jesus raised Lazarus He commanded him to "come forth " in John's Gospel 11:43. When Peter healed the lame he commanded him to "rise up and walk" in Acts 3:6. They didn't fall back, or walk in a drunken stupor, or incur any of the other manifestations mentioned above.

There is "a spirit" at work in Todd Bentley and Lakeland, but it certainly is not of the Holy Spirit.

Paul warnings to Timothy and to all Christians were "NOW the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" I Timothy 4:1. This is happening right now before our very eyes and people who are going to Lakeland to "get some of Todd's anointing", from the descriptions above, are being seduced by demonic forces.

Now let us see what Jesus had to say to the unbelieving scribes and pharisees when they asked him for a "sign" in the Scriptures concerning "signs and wonders" that Bentley and the charismatics partaking are seeking after in this counterfeit healing revival:

Matthew 12:39:But he (Jesus) answered and said unto them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas."

Matthew 16:4: "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas." And he left them and departed.

Mark 8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, "Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, "There shall no sign be given unto this generation."

Luke 11:30 "For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation."

So much for the counterfeit signs and wonders movement that has been taking place now in Lakeland, Florida and in previous times at the "Toronto Blessing" and the "Pensacola Outpouring".

We are warned over and over in the Bible that this will happen in the last days. No where do the Scriptures testify that there will be a great healing revival in the last days that we are living in and are witnessing, nor can the Scriptures confirm the claimed visions and visitations Bentley supposedly is to have had from Jesus, "his angel" and Sundar Singh, an Indian who was involved in mysticism, and of which the Bible warns to stay away from. Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 29:29. Bentley's experiences are completely extrabiblical out of New Age.

John also warns "BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1

Christians need to be using discernment now more than ever.
