What Is Going Wrong With Our World?
Even the skeptics are starting to question the accelerating increase of natural disasters around the world and wondering what in the world is going on? The complete devastation that results from a quake of this magnitude is unbelievable. On NBC nightly news Brian Williams was asking what is going wrong in our world with so many killer storms, tornadoes in the US, a cyclone in Asia killing hundreds on thousands and now this killer earthquake in China?'
The answer can be found in the Holy Scriptures, as we watch God's Word unfold before our very eyes.
"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows." - Matthew 24: 7,8
7.9 Magnitude Quake Kills 10,000
CHENGDU, China (AP) - The death toll from a powerful earthquake that toppled buildings, schools and chemical plants climbed to nearly 10,000 in the worst-hit province Tuesday, while untold numbers remain trapped after the worst quake in three decades.
The 7.9-magnitude quake Monday devastated a region of small cities and towns set amid steep hills north of Sichuan's provincial capital of Chengdu. Striking in mid-afternoon, it emptied office buildings across the country in Beijing, could be felt as far away as Vietnam and in Chengdu crashed telephone networks and hours later left parts of the city of 10 million in darkness. continued
Update: China Quake Toll 71,000
