Huge U.S. Naval Armada Gathering in the Persian Gulf

Something is up in the Persian Gulf. While the Russia-Georgia War has been dominating the news in the past week, and the Todd Bentley fiasco has commanded the attention from Christians non-stop since April, something very big and prophetic may be coming down right under our noses that compels our attention. Is the prophecy concerning the destruction of Damascus written in Isaiah 17:1 about to be fulfilled? There is a huge U.S. Naval armada gathering in the Persian Gulf and nobody seems to know why. Are the Israelis preparing to take out Iran's nukes? Condi Rice's statement from the Jerusalem Post gives Israel the green light.

Rice: Israel Can Decide For Itself On Iran
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice defended Israel's right to make its own decision about whether it takes military action against Iran, in an interview released over the weekend.

"We don't say yes or no to Israeli military operations. Israel is a sovereign country," she said in response to a question from The Politico Web site as to whether she was concerned that America would be blamed in the case of an IDF attack on the Islamic Republic

Is it all just a coincidence that Syria's President Assad is visiting Putin in Moscow this week, who is also sending an aircraft carrier to the area, shown in the picture above?

Russia Sends Aircraft Carrier To Syria
Senior Army strategist Bob Maginnis says he doesn't know if a huge U.S. Naval armada gathered in the Persian Gulf is conducting an exercise, displaying a show of force, or poised to do something bigger.
In recent days military sources have revealed that three new American flotillas have arrived in Middle Eastern waters to join two other carrier groups already there. The marshalling of such a vast armada of more than 40 carriers, warships, and submarines has not been seen since just before the 2003 US -led invasion of Iraq.

Lt. Colonel Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.) is not sure if this means a major operation may be coming. "Whether or not the current scenario is to participate in an exercise, show of force, or is involved in a future operation, that's to be determined," he contends. "But clearly it's a lot of combat power in one area." Whatever is going on, says the Pentagon advisor, appears to be connected with Iran. "Given what has been going on between Iran and the United States and the Western World, one can't help but wonder whether or not Israel or the United States or perhaps both are planning to do something other than watch the current situation with Iran," he adds. Maginnis does not think the crisis in Georgia will have an immediate impact with what the U.S. is doing in the Gulf. Source
