Rabbi's First Amendment Rights Challenged

Rabbi Fights Order to Halt home Prayer Meetings

Folks, don't be surprised if attempts to take away your freedom to practice your Christian faith, or to have your "home church" or Bible Club meetings in your own home challenged in the not too far off future. The case in question in the following article is attempting to do just that with a Jewish Rabbi and take away his First Amendment right to have fellowship with others of his orthodox Judaism faith in his home.

“What’s concerning is the precedent of saying to anyone in the city of Portland, ‘How you exercise your religious practices in your home is going to be limited,’ “ said Eric C. Smith, congregational outreach coordinator for the Maine Council of Churches. More

By your own admission, you have never heard of Eckankar, yet you see fit to cast the stone of ridicule and refer to Eckankar as "New Age fakes". Whom are you to profess to know the "Only" way to God? Just because you have never heard the "buzzing" does not mean it does not exist. Are you aware that the "static" you hear on radios and TVs is the remanants of "The Big Bang"? That's pretty close to hearing God's voice firsthand. Eckankar is not "New Age" as you profess, it predates Christianity and Hinduism as well as many other recognized religions.
I recall learning in Bible study class as a youth that Jesus also had "out of body" experiences.... was he a fraud? Nope, don't think so. Perhaps you could open you mind more to other realms of thought and not be so judgemental of others? Something about casting the first stone? Perhaps?
I do not expect you to add this to your blog as that is your opinion and you are intitled to it.
    May the Blessings be.
