There was no word on casualties or damage.
The television station's website said the quake struck at 11:22 a.m. local time (6:52 GMT), an area about 670 miles (1,075 kilometers) south of the capital Teheran.
The US Geological Survey put the quake's strength at magnitude 5.3.
On Friday, a magnitude 5.7 quake injured 170 people in the northeast city of Torbat-e Heydariyeh, damaging several villages in the region and temporarily disrupting communications. Source.
