Extreme Weather Chaos On Two Continents

During this past week we have witnessed extreme weather chaos ever recorded in recent history on two continents thousands of miles apart from each other.

As Australia was preparing thousands of people into a place of safety from an unprecedent killer category five Cyclone Yasi that ripped apart the coastal towns of Cardwell, Mission Beach and totally devastating Tully in Queesland, Australia, thousands of miles away on the other side of the world the United States of America on the North American Continent was pounded with an unprecedented monster snow storm affecting 2,100 miles of the country, from Texas to Maine, paralyzing Chicago and the rest of the Midwest affected by the storm. And in the northeast path of the storm, many roofs and buildings were reported to have collapsed from the weight of the snow and precipitation.

According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, as of late Friday there had been 93 roof collapses in the state; 13 on Friday alone.

Everywhere, it seems you hear people saying the weather isn’t what it used to be. And most people, even the skeptics, will admit that something strange is indeed happening to the weather on earth. Al Gore and his green followers will tell you it's global warming, now climate change as the cause, fooling only themselves.

But the fact is, according to multiple biblical accounts, God has always used the weather as a means of intervention to influence events and world history upon the earth.  The scriptures attest to this truth.

In the past, when the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, headed for the Promised Land, God gave them the Ten Commandments through Moses, and the Israelites were warned to obey these commands; if the Israelites did not obey His commandments, they would incur a drought.

Deuteronomy 28:23,24

And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed
When God’s prophet Ezekiel challenged those false prophets in Israel, warning that they would be judged by God, the Lord spoke through His prophet Ezekiel, saying:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. Ezekiel 13:13
These are only a few of the many times the Lord used the weather throughout the Old Testament to intervene and influence events on earth, but there are many, many others.

The point I am making here is that if God used disastrous weather calamities as a judgment against rebellious  people and the Israelites in times past, we can be assured that He is doing so today, and will do so in the near future during the climatic end of the age. It is all prophised to happen.

Jesus Himself warned us of future calamities from weather in His prophecy from Luke Chapter 21:25, warning people what would occur on the earth just before His coming again:
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.
Jesus then said that men’s hearts would literally fail them for fear from seeing the things which are coming upon the earth.

We needn’t be surprised by these weather phenomena and disasters we are seeing take place around the world. It has all been written down for us beforehand, and we can trust that God will fulfill everything He said He would. And through it all, come what may, we can trust Him to save us.
