Report: Iranian Warships Pass Through Suez Canel With Aid From Egyptian Military

There has been an abundance of disinformation floating around the internet about Iranian warships passing through the Suez Canel. The latest and most reliable information  today, according to DEBKAFile, is that two Iranian war ships have passed through the Suez canel to the Mediterranean February 20, 2011with the aid of the Egyptian military, who is now in control of Egypt.

Egypt's military rulers approved the passage of Iranian flotilla through the Suez Canal without inspecting their freights for banned cargo, taking advantage of the sandstorm over the region which obscured them from spy satellites and helped them to give monitors the slip. Tehran marked this landmark event with an official state TV statement Sunday that the ships had entered the Mediterranean and were on their way to Syria Sunday even though it is being denied by Cairo. Read about it here.

From earlier debkafile reports: Cairo's approval for Iranian warships transit of the Suez Canal has brought Israel and Iran closer than ever before to a naval collision at sea. debkafile reports: Israel has learned that the Iranian cruiser Kharg is carrying long range missiles for Hizbollah which it plans to unload at a Syrian port or Beirut harbor.

Meanwhile, the Israeli left wing media Haaretz is also reporting that Iran claims to have crossed the Suez Canel with its warships, and according to an Egyptian army source on Friday, the military, which has been running Egypt since President Hosni Mubarak was toppled from power on Feb. 11, had approved Iran's request to send the ships through the canal.

The fact that Egypt is letting Iranian warships go thru the Suez Canal should be an indication which way the "new" Egypt will be siding.

The stage is being set, friends for an all out Islamic attack on Israel by it surrounding arab enemies. Many Bible teachers known as dispensationalists, for years have been teaching of an invasion of Israel headed up by the Russians, but I do not see where the Bible can substantiate that school of thought. What the Bible does teach, however, is an invasion of Israel that will be led by Turkey, an Islamic nation, to the uttermost north of Israel.  I write about it in my entry Ezekiel's War: Who Is Gog? Who Is MaGog?

  1. Why didn’t Iran take the wise choice and ask to sail some passenger ships with no weapons down the Suez? Clearly this is meant to invite an attack on these lame weak warships. While they should have the freedom for peaceful navigation in these waters, this is clearly a stupid idea at the wrong time. Another example of Iranian government wisdom.
