UPDATE: October 20, 2011- MUAMMAR GADDAFI DEAD
Muammar Gaddafi, the brutal muslim dictator of the North African country of Libya for 40 years , has taken the same route as Middle East/North Africa dictators Murbarak of Egypt and Tunisia’s Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali and is said to have fled the Libyan capital of Tripoli after anti-government demonstrators breached the state television building and set government property alight. Libya is one of the muslim nations mentioned by God’s prophet Ezekiel as joining in the antichrist muslim confederacy in its assult upon Israel at a near future date, and will be destroyed on the mountains of Israel.
Libya is also mentioned in Ezekiel 30:5 as falling by the sword, and Daniel 11:43 tells us that Libya will be under the antichrist’s control during the coming antichrist's reign
Protesters appear to have gained a foothold in Tripoli as banks and government buildings were looted while demonstrators have claimed they have taken control of the second city Benghazi.
It is thought up to 400 people may have died in the unrest with dozens more reported killed in Tripoli overnight as protests reached the capital for the first time and army units were said to have defected to the opposition.
More than 300 victims were massacred – many by foreign mercenaries – during the government crackdown in Libya’s second city, Benghazi.
Protesters were gunned down in the streets, with reports that helicopter gunships and snipers were used to suppress the uprising.
The state TV headquarters in the capital Tripoli were also damaged during protests on Sunday while the AFP news agency reported several public buildings had been set alight. Full story here.
Meanwhile, a radical Islamist group storm a Libyan military arms depot, killed 4 soldiers and took several people hostage today.
The AFP reported, via Jihad Watch:
Islamist gunmen have stormed a military arms depot and a nearby port in Libya and seized numerous weapons and army vehicles after killing four soldiers, a security official says.
The group also took several hostages, both soldiers and civilians, and is “threatening to execute them unless a siege by security forces is lifted” in Al-Baida, the official told AFP on Sunday, asking not to be named.
“This criminal gang assaulted an army weapons depot and seized 250 weapons, killed four soldiers and wounded 16 others” in the Wednesday operation in Derna, which lies east of Al-Baida and 1300km from Tripoli.
“Army Colonel Adnan al-Nwisri joined them and provided them with a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, three pieces of anti-aircraft artillery and 70 Kalashnikov” assault rifles, the source said.
On Friday, he said they attacked the port in Derna and seized an assortment of 70 military vehicles.UPDATE:

According to eye witnesses on the ground, Libya is nearing a civil war, Libyan fighter jets are attacking by firing live ammunition at crowds of anti-government protesters in Tripoli, snipers have taken position on the roofs of buildings around Tripoli, apparently to stop people from outside the capital from joining the protest march, according to a London-based opposition activist in touch with residents, and Muammar Gaddafi may have fled to Venezuela, though this was denied by Hugo Chevez, dictator of Venezuela. How many million dollars did he run off with? Gaddafi is responsible for deaths of thousands but he is probably going to enjoy the rest of his life somewhere in Venezuela.
