Tsunami Waves Reach Oregon Border Of Crescent City-Four People Swept Out To Sea

Tsunami waves from the massive earthquake in Japan today have reached the Oregon border  of the United States, and has killed one person,  swept three others out to sea and has caused severe damage to the harbor in Crescent City, near the Oregon border.

ABC affiliate KDRV confirmed the waves pulled the four out to sea late Friday morning. Two of the other people were found alive and one was still unaccounted for.

Del Norte County sheriff's spokesman Bill Stevens said most boats were pulled out of the harbor in preparation for Friday's tsunami, but 35 vessels that remained are crashing into one another and sinking.

The wooden docks also were breaking apart under the force of the waves. More

  1. Hi Toni,
    I've never seen anything like this in all my years.
    Everyday is a gift from Jesus and I do thank him.

    Yes, in the way of Your judgments,
    O LORD, we have waited for You;
    The desire of our soul is for Your name
    And for the remembrance of You.
    9 With my soul I have desired You in the night,
    Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
    For when Your judgments are in the earth,
    The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
    10 Let grace be shown to the wicked,
    Yet he will not learn righteousness;
    In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly,
    And will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
    Isaiah 26

    Whats next ?

    Overwhelmed.
    All at once so many things coming down at once that the weight is to heavy for any mortal to carry on their own...and it is the Lord who is sending all of it.

    Thank God for the peace and the rest He gives us in the middle of the storms.
    That's something you can't buy anywhere.

    Something nobody has commented on so far in the news, but the big 9.0Alaska earthquake back in 1964 happened on Good Friday that year. I remember it well because it seemed to tie in so well with the day it happened and forever left me with this impression of what it might have been like on Calvary that day. I was young at the time and the impression was strong.

    The quake that just happened was either on or about Ash Wednesday this day. Japan being in a different time zone and on the other side of the date line, I'm not sure if it was Ash Wednesday or Thursday.

    Because I remembered the day of the Alaska quake being Good Friday, this one being Ash Wednesday was the first thing that occurred to me.

    The Indonesian quake and tsunami a few years back was of course one day after Christmas, the time of its occurrence the first thing I thought about.

  3. I remember the Great Tsunami of Indonesia 2004 well.. It was a 9.1 earthquake, and this one that just occurred in Japan has been upgraded from an 8.9 magnitude to a 9.1.

    It seems the earth is literally falling apart at the seems; Thank God for Jesus, who holds it all together until He comes again and restores all things.

    For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

    And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.Romans 8:22,23
